The philosophy of the Decatur-Adams County Parks and Recreation Department is
to enhance leisure life styles and quality of life, through program development, leisure services, beautification projects, educational services and
park maintenance. The department supports all efforts towards quality leisure services and thrives on the challenges set forth to meet the interests
and needs of all citizens.
What's New! Stop by our New Office at 231 E Monroe St.and pick up our new 2004 Full Year Calendar of Programs beginning the Dec. 8th or phone 724-2520.That's right a calendar with the schedule of our activities for the whole year. This calendar is small enough to carry with you and big enough to hang on your wall at home or place of work. Plan ahead and register early!Beginning Jan. 1, 2004 the Parks & Recreation Dept. will no longer be excepting registrations over the phone and payment will be due at the time of registration.Get ready for our Winter, Spring, Summer, Early and Late Fall Sessions 2004. New Programs for children Start Smart and Mother Goose Child Care registration begins Dec. 16th for the Winter session, we also offer Gymnastics, Indoor Soccer, Fall Soccer, Aerobics, Aquatics, Men's, Women's and Co-ed Volleyball teams . This Summer we will also have a CO-Ed Sand Volleyball League which will run from May 5 - June 23 and July 7 - August 25. Over 35 and 5-man Basketball teams need to register in Dec.. We have updated our hours for the Fitness Center and Open Gym. Swimming Lessons watch for future dates. The Decatur-Adams County Parks & Recreation Department maintains several facilities that provide various activities for people of all ages. Don't let a good program vanish ! Please Register Early ! Nothing kills a program quicker than waiting until the last minute to register for it. At some point a decision must be made on whether to cancel the program due to lack of enrollment. Registering at the last minute may mean that the program has already been cancelled.
Adams County Service ComplexThe Service Complex houses our Fitness Center and a basketball gym for open gym or to rent. Call 724-5332 for more information. All registrations and payments for activities such as swim lessons, gymnastics, soccer, aerobics, youth basketball, adult leagues and aquatics are made at our New office at Riverside Center which is located at 231 E. Monroe St., Decatur, IN 46733 for more information or to register by phone call 724-2520. This recreation office runs most of the programming available to children and adults. With registrations and payments for the fitness center still being made at the Service Complex. Click on the links at the left to access the many programs available to you and your family. Riverside CenterRiverside Center is located at 231 East Monroe, Decatur, Indiana and can be reached by phone at 724-2520. Riverside Center houses the administrative offices of the Parks and Recreation Department. They have many rooms available for rental. Riverside Center offers weekly gatherings for Senior Citizens, as well as many other special and regularly scheduled events. Click on the links under Riverside Center to see what's going on! Decatur City PoolThe Decatur City Pool is located at 315 Maple Street, Decatur, Indiana. The City Pool is the hub of summer activity in Decatur. Swimming Lessons
are taught in the late afternoon, Family Swim and Open Swim in the afternoons. Even a Water Walking class in the evenings. Click on any
