We are very proud of our courthouse, one of the most beautiful in the state
of Indiana. Construction began in 1927 and was completed in 1929, featuring
limestone and marble. Courtrooms were remodeled in 1985. Beautifully maintained,
the courthouse is located just two blocks north of Main St and two blocks west
of Highway 57.
Wheelchair accessible: Enter through back (north) door of the Courthouse,
then follow signs to elevator in basement. We are on the first floor.
NEW! You can now access tax information 24 hours a day. These are public records available to anyone. FreedomPay offers detailed information online at www.daviesstax.net. Payment information is updated daily. Searches can be done by name, address, and parcel number. It should be noted that taxes are paid a year behind, with 2008 pay 2009 taxes based on information as of March 1, 2008.
NOW AVAILABLE: The Daviess County Assessor now has a web site
which allows you to check your Property Record Card on
line. Your assessment data can be found at
www.xsoftin.com/daviess. It is a good idea to check this
card to verify that the information is correct. If
there are questions, contact the Assessor at 254-8660. We are working toward adding the annual
taxes to that card.
