Child Support Information

Payor Information

Payments may be made in person or by mail

Form of Payment - you may pay by personal check, garnishment, money order, or cash, however, if you mail your payment DO NOT send cash. If you pay by personal check and it is returned, you will no longer be allowed to pay by that option. If you mail your payment and wish to receive a receipt, be sure to enclose a self addressed stamped envelope. So your receipt may be mailed to you.

Annual Support Fees

Under Indiana Law (IC 33-19-6-5), the payor is required to remit an annual docket fee of $20.00 to the Clerk before February 1st. The fee helps cover the costs of servicing the payment account. A $10.00 late fee is assessed for docket fee payment is established for the first child support payment to be received after June 30th, then a docket fee of $10.00 is assessed for the first year. The Clerk cannot deduct the docket fee from a child support payment.

When making the Annual Support payment - please include the ISETS case number and "Docket Fee" on your payment.

Case Number

Your case number is your ISETS number. ISETS is Indiana Support Enforcement Tracking System. All correspondence and phone inquiries should include your ISETS number. This number can be located on the Support Check (for the payee) and on the Annual Support fee notification (for the payor). you will need to appear in person with photo I.D. to obtain this number if you do not have it.

Change of Address

If your address changes, we need to know! It is extremely important that we know the current name and address for both the payor and the payee. Contact this office as soon as possible with any change either by phone or mail.

Payment Histories

Child support payment histories may be obtained by the parties in person at the Fountain County Clerk's Office located at 301 4th St. Top Floor, Covington IN 47932 or by writing to P.O. Box 183, Covington IN 47932. There is a $1.00 fee for each year of payments you are requesting.

Phone Calls

Telephone calls regarding child support payments will only be accepted on Wednesdays and Thursday's between 10:00AM-3:00PM. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please have your ISETS number available.
