We process and distribute child support payments and court orders.

If you need information on your child support account you can call: 1-800-840-8757, have your Social Security number ready and the computer will prompt you through the process.

The Steuben County Clerk Child Support does not enforce court orders, you will need to contact your attorney or the Steuben County Child Support Division of the Prosecutor Office which number is 219.668-1000 Ext. 2500

We have the application in our Office. Applications must be filled out completely except for signature. You must sign the application in our presence. Application by a minor must be approved by parent or legal guardian. You must have two (2) identical photos 2 X 2 and certificated copy of birth certificate or previous passport. Birth Certificate or Previous Passport will be sent in with application and return to you with new passport.

Processing time for a passport is approximately twenty-five (25) working days.

• 15 years and under $40.00
• 16 years and above $60.00

If passport is required in less than twenty-five (25) working days  there is an Expedite fee of $35.00 per passport.

We do have renewal applications in our office for passport issued within the last 12 years. If your passport is older than 12 years from issued date you must start over.

You can register to vote in our office Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM. You can also register to vote at the Bureau of Motor Vehicle, First National Bank of Fremont (at all locations), Angola City Hall, all Clerk-Treasurer Offices in all town, and all Indiana State Services Offices (such as Division of Family and Social Services). 

We are not allowed to do Credit Records Search. Our records are open to the Public.

Six (6) copies are required on all forms and attachments.

• Steuben Superior Court Plaintiff's Manual for Small Claims Court
• Notice of Claim - you need six copies of this form when you file your case with us.
• With Notice of Claim, you must file a Steuben County Sheriff Department Civil Process Sheet when the Sheriff Department is doing the service.
• When filing a Notice of Claim for Eviction you must file Notice of Claim, Affidavit for Immediate Possession or Complaint for Possession-Non Payment of Rent and Steuben County sheriff Department Civil Process Sheet when Sheriff Department is doing the service.

We are not allowed to do search on credit or criminal. Our records are open to the Public, you will have to do the search yourself or contact an Abstract Company to do the check.

COPIES FEES

Copies of Court papers are $1.00 per page. Please call ahead if you need a copy of a Court file.

DIVORCE PAPER

We do not have any papers in our office to file for Divorce. You must do the research at the Public Library. Do not make copies of pre-drawn papers for Divorce. it must be typed on 81/2 X 11 paper. We do have the Summons in our Office. We are not allowed to help you with these papers. It is best to contact an Attorney.

DRAWING FOR COURT

All cases filed in Steuben County are drawn randomly at time of filing. Header on all Court papers should read Steuben Circuit/Superior Court.
