MARRIAGE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS |

| 1) | ONE OF THE APPLICANTS MUST BE A RESIDENT OF STEUBEN COUNTY, IN |
| 2) | MUST HAVE PROOF OF AGE |
| If under 21 years of age, applicant needs birth certificate. If 21 or over, may use either birth certificate or drivers license. | |
| 3) | MUST HAVE PROOF OF RESIDENCE |
| Applicants need to bring their drivers license with a current address on it. If an applicant does not have a drivers license then an I.D. can be obtained from the License Branch. | |
| 4) | PREMARITAL EXAMINATION CERTIFICATE |
| This certificate is obtained from your doctor's office. The doctor will complete the Premarital Examination Certificate required by Indiana state law (no other document can be accepted) as it pertains to the individual female applicant's immunity to Rubella. The male applicant needs no medical certificate. | |
| 5) | THE COST IS $18.00 WHICH NEEDS TO BE IN CAST. WE CANNOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS. |
| 6) | OUT OF STATE APPLICANTS |
| If both applicants are from out of state, they must apply for their license in the Indiana county in which they plan to be married. The cost is $60.00 which needs to be in cash. The proof of age and residence requirements are the same as above. Premarital certificate for female applicant is also required. | |
| AGE LIMIT REQUIREMENTS - MUST BE A RESIDENT OF STEUBEN COUNTY
If applicant is 17, they must have their parents come with them at the time of the application giving their consent. If only one parent has legal custody, that parent must accompany the applicant and sign the application, and provide proof of custody. Applicants under 17 need to get an authorization from the judge, and parents must be present. |
