Environmental Sanitarian

• Interpretation of soil reports
• Septic System Plan review
• Inspection of septic system installations
• Surface water quality testing (lakes, etc.)
• testing of potable water supplies
• Issue on-site waste water systems permits
• Inspection of public swimming pools
• Review IDEM air, water and confined feeding permits proposal for locations in the county
• Dye testing of related investigation of various contaminate sources

Vital Records

• Keep records of all births and deaths in White County
• Issue birth and death certificates
• Genealogy searches (by appointment only)

Health Nurse

• Children's Immunizations (free)
• Adult Immunizations (donations accepted)
• College Immunizations (donations accepted)
• Blood pressure checks (free)
• Tuberculosis screening and treatment
• DNA paternity testing (court ordered)
• Head lice screening
• Limited financial assistance with medication for needy
• Yearly flu shot program

Food Sanitarian

• Routine sanitary inspections of all food service establishments in compliance with state Heath Food codes
• Issue permanent or temporary permits for food service establishments to operate
• Investigates all complaints/follow-ups on food borne illness in these establishments
• Consulting and educating regarding food sanitation regulations and health codes
• Consultant for the county Alcoholic Beverage Board to acquire a liquor permit
